A three-story wooden school building was constructed using local materials.
FIRST WOOD Group's timber was used in Rokunohe Gakuen, a compulsory education school in Rokunohe Town, Aomori Prefecture, which opened on April 1, 2025. This school, which was formed by reorganizing three elementary schools and two junior high schools, is a rare three-story wooden school building in Japan, and aims to create an environment where children can learn and grow in a healthy way. The school building makes extensive use of cedar and larch from Aomori Prefecture, and the use of such local timber contributes to the revitalization of the local economy and forestry industry, the preservation of abundant forests, and the promotion of children's understanding of their local area.
Providing temporary wooden housing to disaster-stricken areas
Amid a worsening housing shortage following the Noto Peninsula earthquake, FIRST WOOD Group supplied 24 units (58 units) of temporary wooden mobile housing to Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture. This housing utilizes "off-site construction," where housing equipment is assembled on-site at FIRST WOOD Fukui factory, ensuring both rapid supply and consistent quality, crucial in times of disaster. The warm, natural feel of the wood provides comfort to those affected by the disaster while also contributing to a reduced environmental impact.
Sports promotion
PGA Official Senior Professional Golf Tour “Sumaiida Cup”
Since 2017, we have been putting effort into promoting sports and revitalizing the local economy, such as by hosting the "Sumaiida Cup Senior Golf Tournament," a senior professional golf tour accredited by the Professional Golfers' Association of Japan (PGA), a public interest incorporated association.
The 2021 tournament, which will be the fourth, will feature the PGA under the slogan "We won't give in to the coronavirus! Let's overcome it together," as an initiative to support medical workers fighting the new coronavirus infection on the front lines of local medical care. First, we were able to receive the cooperation of many supporting companies, and we donated support to the Tochigi Prefecture Nursing Association, a public interest incorporated association.
