―― As a first-class architect and first-class building operation and management engineer, you have been involved in the planning, design and construction of famous commercial and exhibition facilities and event venues, but how are you involved in this pavilion?

"This time, I have been in charge of the design and construction of the exhibition facilities at the venue. I am cooperating with relevant parties so that we can easily communicate to visitors the technical research that supports healthy and comfortable future-type housing and town development with new energy to attain a decarbonized society. I have deep respect and I am very impressed by Shin Takamatsu Architect and Associates which embodied the efforts to attain the kind of sustainable society envisioned by the Iida Group and Osaka Metropolitan University in the form of a pavilion with the wonderful concept of a ""sustainable Mobius"" covered with Nishijin textiles.I am grateful for this opportunity, and I will do my best to work on this project."

What are your thoughts on the theme of the Expo, namely Designing Future Society for Our Lives, and the exhibition concept of this pavilion, TADAIMA?

―― What are your thoughts on the theme of the Expo, namely "Designing Future Society for Our Lives", and the exhibition concept of this pavilion, "TADAIMA?”

"The theme of the Expo is global challenges that we must address in the future. As a solution, the important thing is not the ""design."" I strongly agree with this theme because of my many years of experience in this field. Also, I feel that the concept of ""TADAIMA (I'm home)"" expresses a philosophy that links to people's lives, the foundation of their lives, and even the future. It is wonderful that the theme is expressed in universal language that can be understood by people of all ages and genders. The exhibit has been made with the awareness of ensuring these thoughts could be easily understood by everyone. Technical research was coordinated with internal and external experts to support future housing and town planning, and to convey this to our visitors in an easy-to-understand manner. It is firmly reflected in exhibitions and architectural interior work."

What do you want visitors to feel?

―― What do you want visitors to feel?

What I personally like is the exterior that adopted Nishijin textile, the huge diorama of a future city, and the artificial photosynthesis technology exhibition that supports new energy. I would like visitors to experience the future of living spaces and urban environments through research exhibitions and smart houses. I think this exhibition will gives visitors a sense of hope for a bright future because it embodies new technological development and research.
