  • Please tell us your motivation for joining Iida Group Holdings

    I sympathized with the philosophy of "realizing people's enriched lives through housing,'' and I also found the work environment attractive and rewarding, where I could play an active role as an in-house system engineer for a growing company that has the largest market share of detached houses in Japan.

  • What is a memorable event?

    In 2017, we conducted a full-scale vibration experiment on a two-story CB (concrete block) two-story house using the original CB construction method, which is unprecedented in the world (Public Works Research Institute Vibration Experiment Facility/Tsukuba City) . Staff from outside research institutions and their departments worked on the project for about two months, from experiment preparation to removal and cleaning. I remember being relieved to see the building standing safely without any major damage after the K-NET Tsukidate wave vibration experiment, which was equivalent to the Tohoku Pacific Coast Earthquake, which recorded the highest acceleration in the history of earthquake observation.

  • Please tell us about your main job content.

    In the Production Promotion Department, where I work, we mainly assess (investigate and analyze) the status of detached houses for sale throughout the Iida Group, and provide support and improvement activities to each group company.
    In many departments, data is generally collected on a regular basis, such as monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually, but I am also involved in organizing and aggregating data in various fields (costs, safety, etc.), and creating report materials.

    Mainly responsible for analytical work, and regularly sends out reports to group companies.
    We also provide support for group budget formulation, performance management, etc.

    We are working on solving various research issues, such as energy-independent recycling housing using artificial photosynthesis technology and the development of construction methods for Overseas markets.
    Every day, we plan and implement measures that will lead to problem-solving, such as joint research with universities and analysis using apps, while consulting with the staff in charge of each problem.

    Currently, I belong to the Accounting Department and am mainly responsible for consolidated operations and tax-related operations.
    Specifically, we provide BEPS support such as preparing disclosure materials such as financial statements, quarterly reports, and securities reports, non-consolidated tax support, and transfer pricing documentation.

    I never imagined that I would be involved in an Expo in my life, so I feel honored and working hard every day to cope with the scale and difficulty of the event.     I feel that responding to tax reform and new transactions, and cooperating and collaborating with other departments and group companies will lead to growth.   • Is there a gap between your image and what you had before joining the company?

    • I had the impression that they were tough athletes, but in reality, there are many people who are gentle and easy to talk to.
    • I joined the company with the image of a large company, but there was a lot of room for me to create my own work, and it was a worthwhile challenge.
    • I thought that Holdings was generally an elite group and difficult to get into, but in reality, I feel that many of the employees are very approachable.
    • I was hired as an office worker, so I joined the company in charge of support work such as data entry and answering telephone calls, but since I started working, I have been able to be involved in negotiations and contracts with related companies, which is much better than I imagined before joining the company.
